![]() HOSPITAL RADIO LEIGHTON is housed in studios at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. The station is on the air in the evening on Monday's to Friday's, 52 weeks of the year with live broadcasters and a 24-hour music computer for the rest of the time. The LIVE PROGRAMMES range from Request Shows to Presenter’s Choice and include a Football commentary on each of the Home Matches of Crewe Alexandra. Hospital Radio is also out in the community covering local events like the MIDDLEWICH FOLK AND BOAT FESTIVAL (www.middlewichfolkandboatfestival.com) in June, the NANTWICH JAZZ and MUSIC FESTIVALS and the CREWE CARNIVAL in August (See Diary dates). An annual CAROL SERVICE is also broadcast from a different church each year. This is recorded at the end of November or the beginning of December for broadcast before Christmas. The current studio area has been working since 1987-8 at Leighton hospital. In 2005 it had a major refurbishment and is now made up of a PRESENTERS AREA. Presenters Area With a technical or presenting area with a mixer, CD players, Cassette and a with a computer to play 24 hr music, jingles giving us the best quality output. The studio also has an extensive library of music on all formats, LP, 45, Cassette and Compact discs as well as a computer playing system with thousands of recordings. Record Library. To help presenters prepare their programmes we also have a production area with computer listings of all the recordings available to presenters. Production Area. Finally the studios have a meeting area where presenters can make a drink or just talk before going on air. Meeting Area. Hospital Radio also has an outside broadcast unit at Crewe Alexandra's football stadium at Gresty Road.
